Geek Girl #1

Inaugural 1995 issue of this Australian zine by Rosie Cross and Lisa Pears sets out to demystify computers and get more women interested in the 'net. Aware of some womens' reticence around embracing new technology, this is an approachable, interactive, humorous, and informative introduction. Features on cryptography, the zine Schwa, cyberpunk, hacking, as well as cyberfeminism and discussions around what it's like being a woman online. Hint: some of this has not changed today. Any zine that goes to the trouble to explain HTML as "Hyper Text Markup Language" is A-OK by me.
