In Menlo Park, California exists the Facebook campus, with its network of large office buildings accommodating tens of thousands of employees. These buildings are sleek, concrete and glass creations. All of those empty halls, endless conference rooms, and barren skylights cry out for personalization. That's where Facebook's own artist-in-residency program comes to the rescue.
Artists were invited to use in-house facilities for their residency with the campus as their canvas. This well-produced book documents the second season of this program, which began in 2010. Since then, many artists have been able to take advantage of a great opportunity to make art, display it, gain exposure, and be well compensated on Facebook's dime.
