Rock Jocks: A Pillow Book for Women

Edited by sisters Rita and Lolita Flange, this softcover publication showcases the mid-80s Boston underground rock scene by isolating its denizens and photographing them in their natural surroundings. In a jockstrap, of course. You can tell it's aimed at women not just by the subtitle, but for the inclusion of the subjects' environments, and the use of humor to diffuse what was probably many an awkward photo shoot. 

Subjects include many men from obscure bands, but least obscure being members of Volcano Suns and Scruffy the Cat.
