Sacred Cow #10

An indie rock zine from Buffalo, NY circa 1994 featuring the Coctails, Trent Reznor, and several local bands. What’s notable is that it’s the “Cyber Issue” where terms like “information superhighway,” “virtual reality,” and “cybertrash” were used with novelty. Like other zines from the time, they expressed skepticism over nascent digital trends, including an interesting op-ed on the role of tech in disco vs. funk. However, as this is the early days of the net - CompuServe, BBS, email - there isn’t enough experience to be completely jaded. A great document of the era.
